I have 4 happy kids at gracemount primary, who have developed so much individually... My last child Sophie is (because she's been the baby for so long) is slowly getting her head round being a big girl..Have to say as a mum it doesn't matter how many children you have the first day gets even more emotional!! or maybe I'm just a light weight. lol... Thanks so much for all the effort all the teachers and staff make in giving my family happy happy memories. xx

I left Gracemount in 1991, when Mr Cowie was my primary 7 teacher. I loved looking at the website and seeing how much has changed and how much is still the same (including so many of the teachers - I could recognise quite a few of them from their portraits!).

I spent a year at GPS in 1974 as an 11 year old visitor from Australia. Fond memories of classmates - wonder what happened to you all?!

Wanted to look at the website for nostalgia's sake. Our year group is about to leave high school and go into the big wide world and I can't stop thinking about that last day at primary where everyone seemed to be crying. It's great that so many of my teachers are still there and that the elephant is still in front of the office. It's a great website and I really miss the school and my old teachers.

Gracemount Primary was fab. It's good to see that none of the teachers have changed in the last 2 years, I'm glad I was at Gracemount Primary because it's such a fun and friendly environment, I miss my teachers quite a lot too.

Wow! What fond memories the pictures on this site bring. I can remember my first day way back in 1974. My memories include my P1&2 teacher Mrs Bealby.....anyone remember her?......she was lovely. Also the Head teacher Mr Mallinson and attending a leaving ceremony for Miss Peggy who i think was replaced by a Mrs Paterson. The main hall is just as i remember it.......Fantastic.

I left Gracemount in 1972 (to go to another primary in Edinburgh) and the website brings back some ancient memories. I'd love to see how the place has changed. I remember the Heat Teacher at the time was a Mr Forsyth, and the Infant Head a Miss Peggy.

I'ts good to see the old school website again, i'm glad to see the pupils are all working hard and having good times. I'm sadly in High School but i'm still having a great time. It's cool to see that all my fav teachers are still there. My little brothers are telling me about all the new features added to the primary school such as the bridge added to the garden, new laptops, projectors, Smart Boards, yep I hope everyone there is enjoying primary school.

We really enjoyed looking at the website - it brought back lots of happy memories! It's good to see so many familiar faces even though we left 14-16 years ago (Mrs Chavasse was Anna's p6 and p7 teacher and Ms Allen was Natalie's p1 and p2 teacher). We remember when there were huts for classrooms and Mr Deponio was head teacher! The website is fab and we especially like the drawings of your teachers. Well done!

I am very proud to be Headteacher of such a busy, active school. Seeing all the information on the web and knowing how much hard work goes into it from pupil to staff as well as everything else that goes on in the school. A great place to work and to learn.

| Carla Sprott | 18 October 2005 00:00:00 |
I started Gracemount in September 1990 and had Mrs Russell for my first two years. Sep 92-93 I had Mrs Manson - and from the staff pages I believe she's still teaching at Gracemount! I remember her from thirteen years ago! I remember when my snow storm thing broke in my bag and I was SO upset but she made me feel better! I then had Mrs Slavin, but I left in Primary 5 and moved to a new school, then moved to another new school in England shortly after. I've just started a degree in Animal Science at Nottingham uni. Fab website, found it really interesting. Looked at all of the pictures, but the sad thing is I don't recognise most of them! All new buildings now, when I was there we still had the "huts"!!

Thank you to whoever left the message on our website. We plan to keep it going for a while after we close and there will be a new one springing up at my new school in the Autumn.

It is great to see a school taking advantage of modern technology in a way that involves the pupils. Hopefully this project will get the kids interested in using IT and help them develop a lifelong interest in what is becoming an ever more important aspect of life. The School Tour and the Staff pages brought back so many memories - most of them good ones! Well done with the website and keep up the good work!
